New in… Green George Shoes

When copping with such great brands as Green George one might wonder; where have these guys been all this time?, and yet the answer is very simple: they’ve been here all along, just waiting for the right moment to pop under the spotlight.
Hailing from Montegranaro, one of the main places for shoe production in Italy and just opposite of Buttero’s Tuscany region, Green George have been around since the 70s, making high quality footwear based on great craftsmanship while keeping up with current trends.
Our picks from the brand for AW12 try to bring a mix between their more classic stuff, with double monks and derbys, throwing it together with their new, more edgy styles, like the waxy suede brogues and boots. Here’s a taste…

Our visit to Goti at Tranoi trade show, on the day of the Euro Cup final between Italy and Spain, hence the photo on the wall.
The success of the new material Riccardo is using, which we will be previewing next week, boasted the sales as everybody was going crazy with the new bracelets.

SS12 Recap… Adam Kimmel Psychedelic Print Tee and Scarf

Now that Adam Kimmel has told us about his sabbatical year off the fashion business, we seem to be appreciating his designs even more. Call it human nature if you will but this is a well described phenomenon, epitomized by the popular saying; “You’ll miss me when i’m gone”.
Back to the matter in hand, we thought it was time to do a recap on two of the most representative pieces from Kimmel’s SS12 collection, the psychedelic print scarf and tee. Both featuring the words Spring Summer, they fully embody the designer’s dark surfing inspiration for the season and despite having a black background, they speak Summer on every thread…

Another trade show we always visit in Paris is MAN. There, we dropped by Hixsept, which by the way had their name recently changed to Études, much more fitting we suppose. The SS13 collection is, in just one word, great, expanding the brand’s colorful and artistic output.

Capsule, one of the main trade show events on men’s fashion week, changed its location this season, to a much nicer place on the Cité de la Mode, overlooking the Seine. Although less central, the new venue was airy and spacious, with good river views and there was even a boat service to take you there. Here’s a look…

Mensweek Diaries SS13… at Our Legacy, Paris

As we said we would, here’s a deeper look at the Our Legacy SS13 collection. Luckily enough this time, as a rare occasion and along with good fellas Richardos and Johan, we also had the chance to talk with one of the brand’s founders, Christopher, who filled us in on the Smiley being one of the season’s main inspirations and that he had designed the print for the jungle shirt previewed below.
A closer look also into the new footwear range of the collection, which they were all very excited with.

Incorporating new additions to its household trademark line Play, Comme des Garçons reinvigorates the heart logo fragrance with three new scents just in time for Summer.
