Paul Smith Cyclist Embroidered Motif

With such a strong background connection to the world of cycling, it’s no wonder that Sir Paul Smith often incorporates elements and draws inspiration from that particular universe onto his collections. For SS12, the British designer delivers his own take on the “Go to Hell” theme, based around an embroidered cyclist motif. Available both in khaki shorts and navy chinos, these colorful additions are a welcome variation on traditional Summer classics, turning them into outstanding statement pieces. Just remember to keep it simple on the top…

Band of Outsiders SS13… The Longest Show Ever

Band of Outsiders is once again displaying its highly imaginative backbone by hosting the longest fashion show event ever, having a model literally living inside a card board and wood planks scenario, built on the window of an anonymous Paris gallery. Taking place over 60 hours, the show begins on June 27th at 9:30 and will end on June 29 at 21:30. Throughout the duration of this event, every 90 minutes, the model will be photographed and change clothes, to present the next look from the SS13 collection.
A live feed of the event is available at the brand’s website.

Mensweek Diaries SS13… at the Boglioli Presentation, Milan

Boglioli made its SS13 presentation in an old, dim lighted factory space in Milan while evoking the history of classic Italian fashion.
An illustrious list of participants, which included Luciano Barbera, Beppe Angiolini, a lively 82 year old Nino Cerruti and GQ Japan Editor in Chief Masafumi Suzuki, competed in preparing or helping to prepare Italian cuisine specialities and drinks.
Boglioli’s new offerings included variations on the brand’s signature unstructured tinto in capo jackets, randomly displayed around the venue alongside pants, shirts and other key garments. All under the attentive eye of ts(s) designer Takuji Suzuki.
We’ll let the following batch of images do the rest of the talking…

Mensweek Diaries SS13… Buttero at Pitti Uomo, Florence

Apart from the food theme, Pitti Uomo was massive this season, with several brands really pushing it forward in terms of what they are bringing new to the table. Let’s start with Buttero, where Maurizio presented us some floral embroidering for the brand’s signature sneakers along with a bold color edging on some of their new models. We also had another look at the bags and small leather goods range which are looking quite promising.
