While the navy reminiscent peacoat has been a regular in recent AW collections, every now and then we’re faced with a version that brings back our idle love for the piece. That’s just the case with this take from Martin Margiela featuring contrasting beige corduroy detailing at the collar and cuffs, along with a tailored fit, four side pockets and hidden front button closure for a sleek look. The lapel can be buttoned up allowing the collar to pop revealing the beautiful corduroy. A revamped iconic model that will keep up for the years to come.

AW11 Knits
Carrying on our season roundups, this time around we get hands on with the ever essential knits. The go-to piece for layering purposes, its versatility makes it perfect all year long. Apart from a slimmer or looser fit, the main aspects to consider when choosing knits are the shape of the neck and the fabric itself. Neckwise, although the easy going crewneck and classier v-neck take the lead, pieces with shawl collars, funnel, roll or turtle necks spice things up a bit by adding an unexpected twist to the mix. Different fabrics reflect the knit’s weight and texture, from thin cotton versions to throw under a jacket up to heavy wool ones which can be sported by themselves. Here’s a carefully curated selection of some of our options.
Acne Cusco Sweater – coming in a bright neon red to lively up your black or navy outerwear

Adam Kimmel Video for Vogue Italy
We were actually preparing something entirely different about Adam Kimmel to post up in here, when our dear friend Mr. Adriaensens showed us the way to this amazing video that somewhat sums up Adam’s career as a designer as well as documents on his inspirations and recent collections. Featuring exclusive footage from his working process, Kimmel talks about the Malboro Man, George Condo, how he came up with the idea for a Snoop Dog collection, his trip to the Pacific Northwest and the team up with motorcycle punk artist Dan Attoe.
Hope you feel elevated after watching it,… we sure did.

Found Photos… Long Coat Panache
Following the previous roundup on long Winter coats, we thought it would be nice to show just how timeless they can be. After digging a little into our box of vintage pictures, we found this dapper gentleman in an Adam Kimmel-esque heavy wool topcoat sitting just below the knee. Apart from the impeccable use of hat and bowtie, what also striked us was the opposite play between the coat’s length and the high cropped trousers, giving him an elongated figure and up to date look. His confident posture and overall panache almost makes us let the white tube socks slip by…

Cornelian Taurus Japan Relief Bracelet
The Cornelian Taurus Japan Relief bracelet was especially created to help the victims of the 2011 Japanese earthquake. As a Japanese brand it felt only right to make a small contribution to the ones affected by this tragic event.
Made from horse leather, the bracelet features the brand’s signature Japanese sword inspired braiding at the top, together with brass studs and press button closure. While the bracelet is in natural color the braid is presented black. As a sign of perseverance and hope in the future of Japan, the word “Continue” is embossed under the braid element.
Now on sale at the shop with the proceedings being donated to the cause.

AW11 Looks… Band Of Outsiders
With a collection inspired by 70s California rock climbers portrayed in the book The Stonemasters, Scott Sternberg dropped us more of his play it cool styles for AW11, in a presentation show that had the models literally hanging from ropes down to the runway. Native american patterns could be found in the heavy sweaters, long scarves and fingerless gloves while some jackets were slightly padded and others long and furry. The color scheme presented the usual youthfulness of greens, reds and blues, topped off by the theme’s earthy tones. Clothes were smart as ever with the hats, sunglasses and overall styling recalling images from the book itself.

Hixsept Plural Jacket

To keep it from happening again, Hixsept drops this outstanding waxed cotton jacket garanteed to keep you dry. While the rich honey shade instantly grabs our attention, it’s the small details that really make it pop; contrasting navy corduroy collar and button tab, detachable hood with limited edition Liberty fabric inner lining and adjustable drawstring at the waist.
This eclectic mix makes it a perfect piece to wear and tear while the sun is away.

Flowing Window Video
Guess we have all grown accustomed to wintery images of people, with their scarves being blown away by powerful winds. These images were the starting point for our latest Window display. We wanted to capture that moment when the scarf is gently flowing, parallel to the ground, while wrapped around a person’s neck. For those of you who haven’t noticed it, when cruisin’ down the avenue or just couldn’t come and see it, only because you are too far away, here’s a little video we made about it.

Buttero for Por Vocação Derby Shoes
Our relationship with italian shoe brand Buttero has been strongly evolving, with the latest contribution to this being the video we did with them about the Buttero Family. To strengthen this alliance even more we focused on doing a collaboration shoe for AW11. Surely some of you would have liked us to go for the best selling hiking boots or even for some of the high in demand sneakers but, for this first team up, we decided on a strong silhouette derby style laced shoe.
Handcrafted in Italy from finely selected, vegetable tanned horse leathers, the shoes are available in three colorways; taupe, dark brown and black, with the last two featuring a striking greased finish on the suede uppers. Sewn leather outsoles with protective anti-slip rubber and leather insoles reading “Buttero for Por Vocação” complete this exclusive edition, born from the mutual love for high quality footwear. With a limited production, these shoes will only be available through our physical and online shop.
