Light Spring Summer Looks

Band Of Outsiders SS11 Looks

In their ongoing effort to re-interpret american menswear classics, L.A. based Band Of Outsiders presented their unique vision on modern prep wear for the current SS11 season. A casual presentation of exclusive easy to wear styles, with lots of shorts, rolled up trousers, sporty jackets and polos. Fresh, colorful and great quality crafted clothes for the younger dudes out there.

Adam Kimmel Bandana Roll Up Sleeves

Adam Kimmel is known for taking inspiration from artists, cowboys and more recently hip hop icon Snoop Dogg, someone he has grown up listening to. For SS11 and deeply inspired by Snoop’s original personal style and the bandana prints he uses throughout his clothing, Adam Kimmel created a custom bandana print design that shows up on the roll up sleeves of t-shirts and shirts. After researching several bandana designs, he came up with his own cashmere cotton blend ones and incorporated it into the sleeves reverse, very West Coast Doggystyle…

Maison Martin Margiela Line 8 – Eyewear Collection

Maison Martin Margiela just prompted us with a new video showcasing their Eyewear Collection. Featuring an optometrist eye chart concept, the video introduces the brand’s two new designs for SS11, Anatomic – an enlarged rounded shape enveloping the face to protect the full visual field and Wrong Size – a geometric play on lenses seemingly ill-fitting the frame.

Natalia Brilli Showroom

During our last trip to Paris, and following the Raf Simons appointment, we also went to visit Natalia Brilli’s showroom. Once there, we had the chance to hang out a little with our boy Mwanga while he showed us the new AW11 collection and we had our order placed. As always, beautiful monochromatic pieces carefully encased with the finest leathers. Since it was women’s week, there was a lot of more feminine stuff lying around, which is also good for a change.

n.d.c. Espadrilles

The n.d.c. espadrilles make for an easy, lightweight option for summer footwear. Available in two models, Maxim Laced – with brown washed linen uppers with occasional greased effect and, Pablo Lavagna – in a rich brown tone anthracite grey suede, they both feature leather stitched soles and the classic natural fiber jute braiding around the foot along with other sweet top-notch trimmings.

Raf Simons AW11 Showroom Appointment

Last month during women’s fashion week, we made a special short trip to Paris to buy the AW11 Raf Simons collection that had already been presented in January but with no appointments made at the time. As we like to get things done first thing, we arrived early at the gigantic, hangar like showroom and had it just for ourselves for a while. With our hands full with one of Raf’s best collections to date (it seems he’s always excelling himself…) the hard thing was to make a selection from so many great stuff… Among amazing footwear, great shaped cuts and highly graphic pieces, here’s some pics from our visit.

Maison Martin Margiela 11 Bracelets

Every once in a while we get rubbed just the right way by some kind of accessory and that is certainly the case with these new Margiela bracelets. Designed for SS11, they are made from solid brass and available in two distinctive finishes, old matte gold and white with blue scuffed paint effects. Completed with a simple clasp closing mechanism and the Maison‘s numbers engraved at the back of the wrist.
