AW10 Margiela Eyelet Belts

A good test on your DIY skills, should be these ligne 11 Margiela Eyelet Belts featuring an average of 140 eyelets each. Considering the
amount of time spent punching each hole and then setting the eyelet in the thick leather, we’d say these were worth a lot of extra working hours on some italian worker’s payroll. Don’t try this at home kids! Unless you are an excelled craftsman, it would (at least) take forever…

Family Values II… The Royal Tenenbaums

Wes Anderson’s movie The Royal Tenenbaums is a real style manifest. From Chas’s tracksuit and sneakers to Royal Tenenbaum’s classic outfits passing thru Richie’s look, the characters in this movie (especially the male ones) possess a sense of panache that stands out. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if Richie was found to be an inspiration to Scott Sternberg’s Band Of Outsiders L.A. based brand, with his camel hair suit, headband and polo. Picking up the movie’s own motto about family we guess it can also be said that, Style isn’t a word… it’s a sentence.

make their appearance and we got them in different sorts from light to heavy cottons so you can wear them all along the new season.
Acne continues to feature its House O Striped classic in fine cotton white/grey melange stripes and now with the Acne logo stamped on
the chest pocket. Following the season’s aviator inspired clothing trend, they also came up with a Good Aeroplane t-shirt that’s pretty fly
As for Paul Smith, both the multi colored stripes and the Kato t-shirts are made from organic certified cotton, with special print techniques
and nice stitch detailing. Check them out here!

Record Covers… Pet Shop Boys

In our research for record covers, one band we find to have a good cover history are the Pet Shop Boys. All throughout the eighties and nineties, and mainly due to photographer Eric Watson and designer Mark Farrow, their cover artwork was always great. On top of that, their sleeves constantly conveyed a certain trend about what was going on in fashion at the time and above all reflected the duo’s personality and style, with a flamboyant Neil Tennant taking the spotlight whereas a quieter Chris Lowe stayed in the background. The band’s image was celebrated in a book called Pet Shop Boys: Catalogue, published in 2006 as a visual retrospective of their career.

SS10 Sale Furry Window

As our Sale is flying away, so are the little furry guys who helped us spread the word. We’re definitely no Takahashi’s
when it comes to dolls but still, this window was real fun to do and we’re pretty sure somebody else also enjoyed it…

Paul Smith Scuba Diving Cufflinks

Although these are not really intended to be worn over your wetsuit when snorkeling in the Caribbean, they’ll sure help you bring
a little of your summer underwater experiences back to the office. The Paul Smith Scuba Diving Cufflinks feature detailed figures
placed on a sky blue background, completed with an embossed Paul Smith signature logo placed on the swing back.
Looks like Sir Paul is also capable of loving other sports besides cycling…

Band Of Outsiders Being There Video

Scott Sternberg of Band Of Outsiders is commonly considered as one of today’s top emerging menswear designers. In this video, he shares some thoughts about the new set of imagery and emotion he builds for the brand and the fairly humorous way he approaches fashion, including his known love for Lego. This movie story was directed by credited editor Debra Scherer and inspired by Hal Ashby’s classic Being There, starring Peter Sellers. Crossing the border of fiction and nonfiction, Scherer’s process is described as a very personal, sophisticated form of storytelling which transcends the medium used with each movie being based on a true story.
Previewing the arrival of the AW10 collection at the store, here’s a little trip into Scott’s mind.

Masculin Féminin

We can’t get enough of Jean-Luc Godard’s movies, or the classic 60s imagery and display of french parisian elegance he brought into his films. In Masculin Féminin, main character Paul wears a series of easy styles, with foulards and scarfs randomly complementing his outfits. Classic blazers and overcoats are shown with their collars up and worn over basic apparel like sweatshirts and polos.
A wardrobe ménage, we’d say…

Acne John Pants

A rework on the long johns concept, Acne presents its AW10 version of the well know underwear staple but this time as an outerwear piece, that goes by the simple and not least appropriate name of John. This avant garde variation on a ski pant, features two side pockets to carry all your keys, cards and coins, and even has the classic front button opening for those of you with more conventional habits. A comfortable elastic waist with drawstring closing makes sure they’ll always stay in place and the wide ribbed hems are just right for tucking into boots. Nice!!…
