New arrivals… Giorgio Brato

Hitting our racks this week, we have some pieces from “leather extraordinaire” Giorgio Brato. For a while now, he has dedicated
himself to other stuff than just making dyed leather jackets. Now his collection ranges also to bags and scarves as well as mixing
leather with other materials like cotton and linen. With prodigious details like silk lining on the jacket sleeves and artisanal hand
painting on the scarves, we were easily and undoubtedly assured about the distinctive nature of his other creations.

Da Da Da… A Trio of Looks

Once it keeps raining and snowing all across Europe and the indoor sun umbrella seems like the most we can get from the
new season, (at least for now…), here’s a cool, cheerful video by german band Trio. Their outfits as well as their songs were
always simple yet sophisticated. Subtle shaded tones were combined with bright colors and playful, sometimes unforeseen
accessories. The band’s leading singer looks often remind us of Margiela or even Raf Simons.

New Arrivals… Acne

Some pics from Acne’s latest arrivals. Cotton and cashmere for the knits and serious patchwork on the Pop Collage shirt. A braided tan
leather belt hangs over a pair of Max Grey Stone jeans, now in stonewash Japanese denim. Mismatched and uneven waist and cuffs for the Atlas-O grey melange knit. The new Guy Pop Chino with bleached lining is an alternative that will tempt even the most stubborn jeans addict…

Maison Martin Margiela

For spring-summer, Maison Martin Margiela continues to focus on the subjects of minimalism, artisanal crafts, replica and this time, medical inspiration. The collection plays around with flowers either by the use of stencil prints on the jackets or hand cut forms on the trench coats. Embroidered jeans are adorned by metallic curb chains and go along with paper scratched leather shoes. Underneath,… (white) tank tops.

New Arrivals… Giorgio Brato bags

With sunnier days coming up, any chance of catching some rays of light is good so, when the bags from Giorgio Brato arrived
we saw our chance as we needed to get some shots of them. Off we went, carrying some bags and a camera and while on the
way, we were asked a couple of questions about the bag’s origins and make…
They’re made from soft horse leather and canvas, in the “tinto in capo” technique, which means they’re first made and then
dyed in a process that still maintains artisanal craftwork techniques. The bags are available in grey, blue and green.

Man with a hat

Today’s found photo dates back to the late 19th century. Aside from its age, the reason why it’s so scratched is that it’s printed on a
metal sheet, rather than the usual paper. It shows an elegant young man sitting for a studio photo and what we find most appealing
is the perfection of detail in his clothes. The fine cut of the jacket, displaying an equilibrate wideness of the lapels, is left open so we
can see the vest’s covered buttons. A bow tie over a white shirt, the bowler hat and an unusual flower corsage complete the look of
this probable city gentleman.

Paul Smith and more…

Between new arrivals and pre-existing stuff, we have wrinkled jackets, flowery shirts and scarfs from Paul Smith. His SS10
collection is not only strong in colors but also in innovative materials. The jackets are made from a mix of natural fibres and
metal, giving it a slightly crushed, fresh out of the wash look. The leather on the trainers has an extremely soft touch and if
you really want your feet to stay cool this summer, go for the plimsoles, now available in washed canvas.
We also advise you to keep an eye on the effortlessly elegant Neil Barrett bow-tie, a season must have.

Valentine’s Day Window… made by you

Till next Sunday at the shop, by email or facebook, post your message!

The I You window is based on a Little Britain comedy series sketch (which by its explicit content we decided not to display
directly) and it’s our Valentine’s way of saying we love you… The purpose is that you interact with other passing by people, may
it be your girlfriend, a perfect stranger or even your boss, by writing something and posting it on the cork board. The video
shows the making of process and day 1 of the window. Everyday, we’ll do a follow up of what’s going on and show it to you here.
It will be there for a short period so, you have untill next Sunday to get your ideas straight and decide who you really love…

New stuff continues to arrive at the shop. This time, the boxes unveiled the special love for garments that is put in Margiela lines 10 and 14. Both “The collection for men” and “A wardrobe for men” lines are all about extra attention in the choice of fabrics, finishing and detailing.

New Arrivals… Linda Farrow Luxe

We have been carrying Linda Farrow sunglasses for some years now. We started with the Vintage line till we recently kind of upgraded to Linda Farrow Luxe which means top production and quality standards. With titanium metal pieces coated in 24-carat gold plating and stems made of bamboo, which makes them extremely light and resistant, we can’t get much higher than this when it comes to sunglasses.
