Dangerous things with Style

Besides the acrobatic skills, this video gives us an idea how men were dressing in the late 30′s. We specially like
the train scene with the loose shirt, large pants and scarf. The clip features Arnim Dahl – a carpenter, bricklayer
and circus artist that became a famous stunt in post-war German movies.

The Scene

We really love when style and music come together and The Scene – a television dance show that rocked Detroit from 1975 to 1987, was a perfect example of that. Being a live daily show, it provided its followers the perfect excuse to prep themselves and simply have a good time. On top of that, Sharevari is a really great tune being considered by many as the first techno track.

Raf Simons

For this season Raf Simons has done a remarkable use of neoprene (diving suit material),
as shoulder pieces, parts of the jackets, blousons and even in shirts.
Using high quality Wool and Cashmere for the coats and suits, he believes very hard in the future
of a suit for all men, Young and Old.

Robert Longo

Roberto Longo’s “Men in the Cities” 1980-87 illustrations have become inspiration for many artworks, from fashion photography to
music videos. Picking up traces of the new wave punk scene and mixing it with yuppie references, he created abstract symbols of
the early 80’s society with his powerful and dramatic aesthetic.
We really like the stylized way he portrayed the spasmatic movements of men, wearing suits, shirts and ties.
